Newsletter – 29th Oct 2020

Well today I am ashamed to say I ordered a Christmas Present, and it is still October. The thing it is, that it was really nice, and I did not want it to sell out, so I thought it best to get it now. I am pleased that I did, as sometimes I can think, ‘well I will do it nearer the time’ and I miss out. Maybe that has been a problem all my life, waiting and missing out. Maybe it’s too early, maybe I’m not worth it, maybe anything. If Covid is teaching me anything, it is to go for things, because we do not know what tomorrow brings. To enjoy what I have, and not to think about what I maybe missing out on. I can’t change that, but I can change my outlook and how I react to the situation I find myself in.

Things are different in our lives because of the Virus, and they will continue to be different. Let’s get creative, Why hanker after the same as always, let’s be bold and make changes. Let’s do things differently.
Birthdays, Anniversaries, holidays, Halloween, bonfire night, Christmas.

Think ahead and be adventurous in your creativity, who knows, the improvised ‘new’ may be better than the ‘always done’. Let’s be prepared to give it a try.

This Sunday we are returning to worship online at 6pm. It may be slightly different to what we are used to, but a worship team is working to put together services that we can stream on Zoom & Facebook in Rev Michael’s absence.

The zoom meeting code and password is the same as always. You can access from 5.45pm.

If you would like prayers to be included please let us know, If we can’t include them for some reason please be assured that the prayers will be lifted by the prayer team during the week. please send them to thevillagemcc@outlook.com before the service otherwise on Zoom or Facebook on Sunday.

Remember to have some bread and a cup of something if you want to join in with communion

If you would like to help with services and you have not been involved before then do get in touch.

I would like to thank those who are working to get our services up and running again. There are some technical challenges, but hopefully we shall get it all running smoothly soon.

This may not be quite an ‘improvised new’, but we are certainly going to give it a try.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Our Annual Church Meeting is due to be held in December though this may be delayed due to the current covid situation.

For the Church to function we need more members to come forward to stand for the board. If you think you would be interested please let me know as soon as possible. thevillagemcc@outlook.com. If you want the church services then we need your help. Things do not happen by themselves.

Pastoral Care Team

During Rev Michael’s absence pastoral care will continue. Call or text the church mobile and leave a message and someone will get back to you,
07476 667353

When the pandemic first broke we tried to reach out to everybody at least once a month. As time has gone on we have reduced our pastoral care calls to those who have either requested them or are at high risk. Of course we don’t want to miss anybody out so if you would like to connect then please let us know
Much love – Keith
